In the United Arab Emirates capital of Abu Dhabi, May 12, 2007 at the auction, a license plate number of only one of nearly 700 million U.S. dollars sold at high prices, set a world record.

According to Emirates News Agency reported, this is the first meeting of the United Arab Emirates Auction license plate. At an auction, with only a "5" license plate with the number 25.2 million dirhams (about US$ 6.86 million) of the price.

Reported that the buyer is a businessman “Khoury”. All of this auction revenue to charity.

The previous world record auction price of license plates last July in Yorkshire, England hit. At that time, a "M1" plate to 331,500 pounds (about US$ 660,000) of the price.
